How To Ace The Backswing Golf Shot
The technique of a perfect short commences from a perfect backswing, since it is this motion that sets forth all the other actions and determines the power of your shot. In order to achieve backswing expertise, you will need to understand the biomechanics of the golf swing. Once you have the right backswing in your mind, then you will need adequate practice, in order to efficiently utilize the energy generated from it.

A proper stance is very important, if you want to ace that backswing golf shot. Stand with your legs in a tightly inverted V position. Your back should be straight and your knees slightly bent. Your grip on your golf club should be firm, but not crushing. You can interlock your hands on the upper end of the shaft of your club or alternatively hold them one below the other. Ensure that your thumb faces downward at a slight angle.

The ball should be centred between your feet and you should stand at least 4 inches away from the ball. As you commence your backswing, bend your right elbow at an angle of around 90 degrees, while keeping your right elbow straight, if you are right-handed. Start slowly and maintain a level of smoothness in your action. Your upper body should also twist along with your backswing. Your chest and shoulders should twist towards the right side.  If you are short, then you might need to keep your right elbow near your body, in order to increase power and attain a flatter swing. But, in case you are tall then you will probably have a vertical swing and might want to keep your elbow away from your body.

It is important to maintain a consistent grip on the shaft of the club. If you loosen your grip, then you might end up changing the face of the club head and consequently slice the ball. As you swing your club backwards, twist your left shoulder so that it comes in line with your right foot. This move will build up energy just like a coiled spring and that energy will be needed during the course of your downswing. When you reach the top of your backswing ensure that the plane is proper and that the entire backswing action has been fluid.

Once you have attained the perfect backswing, you will need to complete the action by following it with the perfect downswing and follow through. All the energy stored in your body during the backswing should be released at the perfect moment that the club touches the ball. Do not try to whack the ball using brute force, but instead ensure that your backswing and downswing remain just swings, as the name suggests. Your concentration should be to maintain the true plane and path of the club, so that the head hits the ball on its centre. This will carry the ball to the desired distance.

In order to perfect your backswing, you can use any of the many golf-training aids available in the market. However, the one system that will enable you to actually watch your backswing is to connect a high-speed camera to a computer and film your entire swing. This will enable you to play back your moves and catch any mistakes that might have been committed. You can show your swing to a pro and get professional advice on your swing, including your backswing. This will help you to refine your move.

Thus, by using the above tips, you can improve on your backswing and by regularly practicing your move, you can attain a level that will enable you to ace the backswing golf shot within a short time.
